Its shape and structure was then somewhat different but its name was very similar, it was then known as the Sitar, and also as the Cithara in Central Asia and India. Among the Arabic nations and the Greek it was called the Kitara.
Its body shape, number of strings and name varied from one nation to the other but its charming music and exiting sounds never failed to touch the hearts and souls of millions in so many civilizations.

Centuries, this metamorphic instrument evolved into something very close to what we have today, but it was not until the year of 1931 when Mr. George Beauchamp invented the electro~ magnetic pickup. After Word War II, the Gibson Guitar Factory and Fender Music adapted the pickup to what we know today as the electric guitar.
