Saxophone

saxophone

It was invented by Adolphe Sax, a Belgian who intended to create a woodwind instrument that could fill the midrange tones in a military band. Sax accomplished his goal while living in Paris, and in 1845 he gave us the newest of the woodwind family: the amazing “Saxophone”, which of course carries his name.

Needless to say that Mr. Sax had no idea of how great his invention would become. Over the years, the Saxophone has evolved into a “One of a Kind” variety, therefore today we have the Soprano, Alto, Tenor, and Baritone Saxophones as the most popular ones. These like most musical instruments, are now incorporated into a broad range of musical genders, like Latin Bolero, Latin Pop, Reggae, Big Bands Classics, Symphonic Orchestras and even some styles of Rock & Roll; but the generous flexibility of a Saxophone seams to be well at home in any Jazz setting.

Musicians have always been able to develop their own and personal techniques, while in pursuit of mastering an instrument; the Saxophone is probably the most versatile of the woodwinds, it truly allows determined musicians to bring to life that which was born in their imagination. “Inspiration”
